Panel of Authors Reveal Secrets to Successful Book Promotions

The Greater Los Angeles Writers Society to host two consecutive panels of experts to reveal powerful secrets for successfully marketing and selling publications.

Los Angeles, CA – A special gathering of Los Angeles authors to reveal expert tips on maximizing exposure for books.

Tony Todaro, author and brand strategist, to moderate two consecutive panels of experts at the Greater Los Angeles Writers Society on Saturday, November 15, 2008. This event is open to the public, and admission is free.

‘Promoting Yourself and Your Novels’ is a special event at the Palms Rancho Park Library, 2920 Overland Avenue, Los Angeles, California. Doors open at 2:30PM for free registration and hospitality prior to the two consecutive panel discussions.

Tony Todaro, president of the Greater Los Angeles Writers Society, has designed branding and marketing campaigns for national and international companies through his firm, Todaro Communications Inc. His novels include “True Light” and “Nexus of Swords”.

The panel features John Mehrmann, author of “The Trusted Advocate: Accelerate Success with Authenticity and Integrity”. John Mehrmann also contributed to “101 Great Ways to Improve Your Life, Volume 3”, with Ken Blanchard, Marc Victor Hansen, Byron Katie, and Les Brown. John Mehrmann is a well known motivational and international speaker.

John Weiskopf, author of “The Ascendancy”, has taught literature and writing for ten years in private schools and colleges. John was hired by the US Embassy to teach screenwriting and producing seminars in South America.

Appearing on a panel is Kevin Gerard. Kevin teaches sociology and statistics for the California State University, and is author of The Conor and the Crossworlds series.

Additional featured panelists include Marci Baun, editor of Wild Child Publishing, and Steve Rohr, president of Lexicon Public Relations and book marketing company MyBookPreview.com. As a publicist, Steve Rohr represents Academy Award, Golden Glove, Emmy Award, and Grammy Award-winning actors, recording artists, and television hosts.

Marla Miller teaches Marketing the Muse workshops across the country, and produces a column “The Early Years” for The Writer Magazine writermag.com. In her upcoming series, HOOKED, Marla interviews noted literary agents about effective query letters.

Gillian Lee Hutshing has worked with acclaimed directors Ridley Scott, Peter Weir, Kevin Costner, and others as a feature film editor. Gillian is also author of the children’s book, “Sparky the Wonderfish”. Gillian was a featured author at the Book Expo America New York, and has had numerous signings.
