For almost three decades, The Shirt Box has been dressing the Metro area’s elite. Now as a pre-holiday thank you, The Shirt Box will show gratitude to its customers with a rare opportunity for savings and fun, from 5-8 pm, Thursday, November 20.

It’s a Wine and Crime event in which the VIP patrons will be able to shop, save and meet Detroit’s newest crime writer.

Fresh from appearing at the National Press Club, in which Paula Tutman signed books with the Washington Press Corp elite including Helen Thomas and Supreme Court Justice, Anton Scalia, Emmy award winning journalist, Paula L. Tutman, Morning Correspondent for WDIV Local 4 will sign copies of her new mystery thriller, DEADLINE! at a Wine and Crime social event at the store. It’s all part of The Shirt Box’s evening of customer appreciation.

Customers will have an opportunity to meet Tutman, hear several readings from her book and get signed copies while also participating in exclusive savings at the store.

“We are thrilled to have Paula as part of our customer appreciation celebration,” said The Shirt Box co-owner, Ron Elkus. “The Shirt Box has been in business for more than 27 years and this gives us a fun and unexpected way to show our appreciation to everyone that has helped make us a success.” Elkus continued, “It’s a perfect event for the men who’ve made us what we are today, and the women in their lives who want a fun evening of socializing while getting great gift ideas for the fellas in their lives.”

Wine, cheese and light hors d’oeuvres will also be served.

Tutman’s DEADLINE! tells the fictional story of Detroit’s top crime reporter, PS Garrett, after she shows up at the scene of a double murder of two children. While soaking up the aftermath of his handy work, the killer catches a glimpse of his favorite TV reporter, and realizes that if he keeps killing, she’ll keep showing up and he’ll get a chance to meet her…and make her his.

“DEADLINE! is a mainstream fiction, serial novel very loosely based on an experience I actually had when I was a younger police reporter in Baltimore, Maryland,” said Tutman. “It was an exhilarating experience to write and I’m eager to share it with friends of The Shirt Box. It’s an exquisite store and I applaud them for finding this unique and exciting way to show their customers how much they appreciate them by creating an evening of fun and mystery.”

There is no cost to attend this event and all are welcome. Copies of DEADLINE! can be pre-ordered by calling (248) 851-6770 or visiting The Shirt Box.
