The Jewellery Gallery's owners Julie Carrington and Lea Sanson are excited to announce that Kylie Gartside has graciously agreed to allow The Jewellery Gallery to stock her exclusive designs.
Kylie is a contemporary award winning jeweller who appreciates and applauds originality and individuality, "Sometimes that can mean inhabiting the edges of conventional style or challenging preconcieved ideas. Some of my work displays irreverence to history or tradition, but I think that is what makes it interesting. I enjoy the juxtaposition of contradictions... precious and plastic." Kylie also stated that she drew her inspiration for her work from evey facet of life, from conversations and experiences, the pedestrian and the exotic to what might happen tomorrow. She was been awarded the Emerging Artists Mentorship Grant in 2005 and this allowed her to work with Barbara Heath and benefit from her mentorship. Since then Kylie has gone from strength to strength designing and making production pieces, limited editions and exhibition work.
