Duke University Hosts Annual PCI-DSS Merchant Training

NuOpus LLC Managing Partner Laney Dale was invited by Duke University to speak at their annual PCI-DSS Training seminar last month.



Laney Dale (who has 15 years of security experience, including helping Visa develop its security standards) conducted a four-part series on PCI-DSS issues to more than 200 Duke University credit card merchants on October 15 and 16.



As subject-matter expert to the seminar, Laney Dale lectured on the 4 topics including testing requirements for all Duke University merchants. Building strong information-security policies, audit logs, and physical security awareness also was on the agenda.



Christa Stilley Poe, Director of E-Commerce for Duke, spoke favorably about the effectiveness of Dale's lecture.



"I asked Laney Dale to be a guest speaker at Duke's annual PCI-DSS awareness training because I wanted to expose them to a credible security professional who could emphasize the importance of security compliance with examples from his experiences," she said. At KPMG Laney worked with Visa to develop their security card standards.
