Stevie Awards for Women in Business names Amberly Allen, Direct Innovations as Finalist

The Stevie Awards has named Amberly Allen, President of Direct Innovations, a finalist in the 5th annual Women in Business Awards in the category of Best Entrepreneur in a Service Business up to 100 employees -Advertising, Marketing and PR.   Amberly is also a finalist in the Stevie Award category of Best Young Entrepreneur  for women under 30.  Direct Innovations is a direct mail marketing company offering its clients real time, scientifically researched, mail based advertising.  

The Stevie Awards for Women in Business honor women executives, entrepreneurs and the companies they run-worldwide. The Stevie Awards have been hailed as the world's premier business awards.

Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word "crowned," winners will be announced during a gala event at the Marriott Marquis hotel in New York on Friday, November 14th. Nominated women executives and entrepreneurs from the U.S. and several other countries are expected to attend.

More than 1,200 entries were submitted for consideration in 50 categories.  Finalists were chosen by business professionals worldwide during preliminary judging.  Members of the Awards' Board of Distinguished Judges & Advisors and their staffs will select Stevie Award winners from among the Finalists during final judging.

Amberly began her company in 2005, at the age of 24. The first eight months in business as the only salesperson, sales hit $1M.  Now, three years later, sales top $3M and the company is home to eight co-workers.  Amberly is the youngest member of the Houston Women  Presidents'  Organization, an honor that requires over $2M in sales annually.  In August 2008, Direct Innovations was named #21 on the list of Top 50 Fastest Growing Woman Owned Businesses in Houston by the Houston Business Journal.  In October 2008, Amberly was named  one of eight finalists in the Houston NAWBO- Woman Business Owner of the Year.
