Brantford Launch of Boxing by Syd Vanderpool Programs Taking Place November 8th
BRANTFORD, ONTARIO, OCTOBER 15, 2008 – November 8th marks the launch of the Boxing by Syd Vanderpool programs at Brantford’s Caged Dragon Mixed Martial Arts Training & Fitness Club.
With mixed martial arts (MMA) being more popular than ever, and athletes such as George St. Pierre and BJ Penn garnering the media spotlight for their Ultimate Fighting Champion matches and reality TV show, Boxing by Syd Vanderpool is expanding its programs to the Brantford region to “get those people who can only get workout time in on weekends, those weekend warriors, into optimal shape!” adds Syd Vanderpool. With an already successful business operating out of GameDay Fitness in Kitchener, Vanderpool, who was the #1 ranked Super-Middleweight boxer in the world, sees an opportunity to fill a niche market in the fitness industry.
“These days people are looking for something engaging and interactive as a form of exercise,” says Vanderpool. “Our programs are dynamic and breakaway from the traditional gym-style of fitness. You’ll get fit while having fun.”
To commemorate the expansion of Boxing by Syd Vanderpool, at the November 8 launch guests can enrol for training packages and receive savings off the regular prices. “This synergy of fighting and fitness is what makes the Vanderpool Fighting System the best in the world.”
Additionally, in recognition of the launch, a special training seminar instructed by Syd “The Jewel” Vanderpool is scheduled from 1:00 to 2:30pm. Caged Dragon is located at 27 Copernicus Blvd. in Brantford and is the city’s only MMA training facility. Registration for the launch and training seminar is available by emailing todd@cageddragon.com.
