NBC 17 will sponsor local non-profit, The Healing Tree Foundation, and their Kindness Cure Campaign to spread kindness and awareness around the local community. The Kindness Cure Campaign is an effort to create a movement for people who believe that kindness and generosity are keys to transforming society. The Kindness Cure Campaign will launch on World Kindness Day (November 13, 2008) and follow with CJ Scarlet, president of The Healing Tree Foundation and creator of The Kindness Cure Campaign, performing 365 acts of kindness and recruiting a legion of “kindness bandits” to perform similar acts in their own communities.
“The Healing Tree Foundation is excited to have NBC 17 and MyNC.com as sponsors of The Kindness Cure Campaign,” said Scarlet. “To have an organization like NBC 17 behind us will not only give the foundation the leverage we need to reach people in our community, but will also help us reach people and spread our message of kindness and giving outside the Raleigh area as well.”
Over the next year, The Healing Tree Foundation will work together with NBC 17 to encourage the individuals to spread The Kindness Cure Campaign through the MyNC.com website and throughout own communities.
