Follow on Google News | Christmas Markets return to SwanseaThe Christmas Market is returning to Swansea city centre from November 28 to December 14 2008.
By: City and County of Swansea The Christmas Market will also be supported by a French Market on its last weekend from December 11 to December 14. A Swansea Christmas kicks-off in little over two weeks with the Christmas Parade and the annual switch-on of the lights on November 16. Waterfront Winterland then starts on Saturday 22nd November in the grounds of the National Waterfront Museum. The iceskating rink returns, along with the Admiral Giant Wheel and a new snow ride. Iceskating tickets are on sale now at http://www.waterfrontwinterland.com. Admiral, the National Waterfront Museum, Swansea Council, the South Wales Evening Post, the Wave and Swansea Sound are kindly supporting the events. Cllr Chris Holley, Swansea Council Leader, said: "This is going to be a terrific Christmas here in Swansea and Waterfront Winterland and the city centre shopping experience will definitely be the highlights. "The Christmas markets will offer shoppers that something a bit different and will compliment our bustling indoor market that itself offers one of the best atmospheres of its kind in the UK with over 100 stalls. "We also have over 300 independent and high street stores in the city centre that together combine to make up a unique destination that stands out from the crowd. "And Christmas is coming at a time when construction work on the flagship three-storey retail complex on Princess Way is nearing completion. There's a great deal to look forward to."
