Non-Profit May Hold the Answer for the Estimated 500,000 Women Who Die Each Year from Heart Disease

AMO is a non-profit organization that has partnered with heart hospitals in the U.S., which perform several types of heart surgeries at a significant discount, 60%-80% off the average cost.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PR Log (Press Release)Nov 04, 2008 – Heart disease is the number one killer of American women today. In fact, the next four deadliest causes combined still do not outnumber the amount of deaths caused by heart disease. Although heart surgery is a big point of interest for AMO, there partnering hospitals also perform Joint (Hip/Knee) Replacements, as well as some Gastric Intestinal surgeries. All of these much needed surgeries will now be more affordable, thanks to American Medical Outsourcing, which saves people between 60-80% off the cost of the national average. The average cost of a Heart Bypass surgery and a Joint Replacement surgery is $46,000.00. By going through AMO, the average cost for the same procedure is only $12,500.00.

AMO provides a free service, and has negotiated with top-of-the-line hospitals in the “Heartland” of American. Frank Mitchell, Founder and CEO of AMO has stated:  “With 50+ million under/uninsured people in the U.S., it is no surprise that medical debt is one of the leading causes of bankruptcies.” Mitchell goes on to say that most people don’t know that they can be “aggressively sought after and sued if their medical bills are not being properly taken care of.” These startling numbers and facts are the biggest reason why AMO was founded.

It is a new concept for a company to negotiate your price of surgery, but this method seems to be effective, with savings around 60-80% off the national average. The concept is to negotiate with as many hospitals in the U.S. as possible, and then send the patient to the intended location, which is chosen by the patient, to receive the treatment. With as much as $35,000.00 in savings for Heart Bypass and Joint Replacement, the patient can afford to buy a plane ticket and travel to the intended hospital. AMO will not only educate the patient on the locations and cost and savings, but AMO will also help the patient find financing for the surgery as well as the cheapest airfare, hotel, and transportation in the location chosen by the patient. AMO will also assist the patient in gathering all of the appropriate medical records.

If you are worried about the quality of treatment, don’t. Just because there are significant savings, the care is not being compromised. The performing doctors are all American Board Certified and well experienced in the treatments being performed. AMO will provide the doctors’ educations and qualifications upon the patient’s request, so that the patient will be able to choose the doctor best suited for the patient. The hospitals are all top-of-the-line, have state-of-the-art equipment, and the medical devices (implants) are the best in the market. These great facilities and savings are the reasons why AMO is in discussions with Woman’s Heart Foundation, March of Dimes, Hospital of Hope, and Music for Heart, in hopes of forming partnerships.

So, why wouldn’t all under/uninsured individuals utilize AMO’s services? The reason why AMO and its partnering hospitals are able to drastically reduce the cost of the surgery is because the patient must pay upfront. There are some under/uninsured individuals that might be able to front the cost or that may not be eligible for a loan. Those that are not able to pay upfront will not be eligible for the savings. For those who are not able to come up with money before the surgery date, AMO recommends contacting you local Churches, local news broadcast, local government officials to help raise the funds for the procedure. After all, it is easer to raise $12,000 than it is to raise $46,000.
