The MACK Group, LLC, a nationwide asbestos removal and abatement, mold and lead remediation contractor recently completed the decontamination and demolition of microbial contaminated building systems and materials.
Decontamination and demolition of the chemical contaminated building systems and materials included:
• Preparation of work areas similar to an asbestos project, utilizing existing decontamination shower area and negative HEPA filtration
• PPE to include full face supplied air hoods, Tyvek suits, gloves & boots.
• Sealing of four (4) penthouses
• Installation of HEPA negative air units
• Removal of all suspended ceiling tile systems & sheetrock ceilings as contaminated waste
• Removal of all MEP cut and capped from the 1st as contaminated waste
• Removal of all Duct work from 2nd floor four (4) penthouse(s)
• Removal and disposal of system wall coverings as contaminated waste (1st floor)
• Decontamination, demolition and of all mezzanines
• Decontamination, demolition and disposal of all block walls
• Decontamination, removal and disposal of floor coverings
• The floor was then shot-blasted using a Blastrac machine
• Removal and disposal of lockers, bath accessory items
• Removal of identified doors and frames
The project was completed without incident or injury and was done in 8 weeks.
