The Hollywood Music Awards is the world’s only red carpet event that celebrates music in popular visual mediums AND the music of undiscovered artists around the globe. Television, film, video games, commercial advertisements and Internet music sites are the mediums in which many artists get their big break. The HMA is the first event of its kind to recognize this trend and praise new music artists.
Honoring a variety of musical styles, from traditional to experimental, the HMA gives equal consideration to both signed and unsigned artists, whether or not their music has been placed (yet) or not. There are a number of categories that will focus on artists whose music is used in films, television, games, commercials, and web-based videos. Additionally, the HMA will also spotlight those individuals responsible for choosing and placing music in those mediums, including music supervisors, licensers, directors, and producers.
The HMA Advisory Board and Selections Committee are composed of the most influential professionals in the biz including music supervisors, licensers, publishers, agents, composers, label heads, managers and journalists. Many of these industry insiders are responsible for the music you hear in top rated television shows, blockbuster movies, the hottest video games and the most successful commercial campaigns in the world.
The Ashy L Bowz were selected for their song "We Got Game" in the genre of Hip Hop/Rap.
The Hollywood Music Awards (or "Woodys", as some like to call them) will be presented on November 20th, 2008 at The Hollywood Highlands in the world famous Kodak Theatre complex in Hollywood, CA.
