Raleigh, NC. Citing their recent company growth, Williams Overman Pierce LLP, announced today three internal company promotions.
“Our philosophy has been to promote from within as our company grows,” said Gwen Vass, the newly elected Managing Partner, for the firm.
“We find it very satisfying when our employees move up our career ladder, and we think that growing our own talent gives us a competitive advantage in servicing our clients,” she added.
Vass announced that two partners had recently assumed new positions as the firm’s Partner-In-Charge (PIC). George Lambert, of the Raleigh Office, was appointed PIC on October 1, 2008. Joining Lambert as the newly appointed PIC in the Greensboro office is Chuck Long.
Lambert and Long have been with the firm for several years and both were admitted to partnership in 2001.
“I am honored to be in a leadership position,” said Lambert, a 1992 graduate of NCSU, in Raleigh. “I enjoy mentoring the staff and being involved with their career development.”
Chuck Long is a 1992 graduate of Georgia State University with a Masters of Taxation and handles taxation for the Greensboro office.
Vass joined the firm in 1980, one of the first staff employees hired by the Raleigh office. Her responsibilities and upward mobility increased as she worked her way to the top position in the firm. Vass is a 1980 graduate of UNC Chapel Hill.
“All of us are extremely proud of Gwen,” said Eddie Strange, the immediate past Managing Partner. “She is a hard worker and a really sharp CPA, and we have a great deal of confidence in her leadership abilities.”
