It's official! Former Bad Boy Recording Artist MA$E, now known as Pastor Mason Betha, is opening a church on the west coast. The rapper turned pastor made several trips to the sunny city of Phoenix and has announced that he will be opening El Elyon International Church (EEIC). EEIC will now have two locations: one in Atlanta, GA and a new location in Phoenix, AZ. Pastor Mason will still oversee the pilot church in Atlanta, Georgia, which is currently undergoing renovations to make full use of their 2,000 seat facility.
Phoenix has had its share of excitement this year with Superbowl XLII; Shaq O Neil being acquired by the Suns; and now the opening of El Elyon International Church on December 31, 2008. When asked about the decision to expand his ministry, Pastor Mason shared, “it just makes sense to be on both coasts. Our vision has always been to plant churches all over the world and Phoenix is the first of many. We love the city of Phoenix and look forward to making a tremendous impact.”
Next week Thursday, November 6th, Pastor Mason and his wife, Twyla Betha, will be hosting auditions for musicians and singers at Carl Hayden Highschool, 3333 West Roosevelt Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85009.
