Cheyney University undergraduate student, Subena Perry, was elected Outstanding English Major (OEM) by the Department of Communications and Modern Languages at the university. This past week, Subena presented her work of fiction titled "Pinch of Salt to an Open Wound" at the 2008 English Association of Pennsylvania State Universities (EAPSU) conference at Kutztown University.
The EAPSU is a regional professional organization whose members come from the English departments of the 14 state universities of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE). The organization was established in 1980 dedicated to excellence in English studies. The annual fall conference for undergraduate English majors is a competitive, high-quality venue with participants from across the globe and showcases the best in many disciplines including writing and literature, pedagogy and film, creative and critical.
The 14 state universities of the PASSHE system include Bloomsburg University, California University, Cheyney University, Clarion University, East Stroudsburg University, Edinboro University, Indiana University, Kutztown University, Lock Haven University, Mansfield University, Millersville University, Slippery Rock University, Shippensburg University, and West Chester University.
