Follow on Google News | Author releases heart warming novel about survival in hard times – Chasin’ that CarrotAvril Saunders releases new fictional novel set in Glasgow in the late 1960s. The story traces the life of a young couple as they struggle to survive in hard times. The hardships and humour of Glasgow folk in this era come into their own in this book
It is 1969 in Glasgow; things are difficult, work is scant and money is tight. James and Linda Alexander start married life with everything seemingly against them, they have a toddler son with another one on the way, they decide to move down south to ‘Chase that Carrot’. Work is plentiful and wages are good in the London area, but there are no houses for rent. James roughs it in a rented room and Linda stays on in Glasgow until she can join her husband. The young couple work hard, endure hardships, suffer injustice, but it looks like their perseverance begins to pay off when they buy a house in Kingston upon Thames, Surrey. Their eyes are opened up by some of the ‘goings on’ in their new street; things, they thought, only happen in films. ‘Chasin’ That Carrot’ can be obtained at the following address: http://www.pneumasprings.co.uk/ # # # About Pneuma Springs: Here at Pneuma Springs, we are absolutely passionate about assisting authors to turn their writing dreams into reality.
