Oct. 28, 2008 - PRLog -- Aster Data Systems, a proven innovator in analytic databases for frontline data warehousing, today announced that CEO and Co-Founder, Mayank Bawa, has been selected to participate in a key session on, “Leveraging Data to form Closed-Loop Decision Processes,” at the upcoming Defrag 2008 Conference.  

Who:   Mayank Bawa, CEO and Co-Founder, Aster Data Systems

Bio:    Mayank graduated with a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stanford University.    As a Stanford Graduate Fellow, Mayank developed algorithms for querying large distributed data systems. Mayank has published a dozen academic papers in top database conferences and has been affiliated with IBM Research and Microsoft    Research. He received his B.Tech in Computer Science from IIT Bombay; he ranked 4th in the entrance exams for the IITs.

What:   Together with the panelists, Mayank will explain how businesses can recognize    that the use of data is “growing out and up” as well as point out new trends in the    industry as to how organizations can successfully monetize the insights gained    by taming and analyzing those data sets, and feed the insights back into    operational purposes to sell the return investment.
