The Mandarin Spa announces a new luxurious pregnancy spa treatment for women in their second and third trimester, the 90-minute Body and Bump treatment, which has been specifically designed to address the health and comfort concerns of pregnant women.
“We understand that pregnancy is the most wonderful time in a woman’s life, but it’s not without its physical stresses,” says Spa Director Lynsey Hughes. “This is why we have developed this treatment which specifically focuses on the areas of concern for pregnant women, such as heavy legs and water retention which can be eased with massage. This relaxing and pampering treatment for mums-to-be is deeply hydrating and nourishing and will ease the muscular tension caused by carrying the baby. Rose-scented oils help prevent stretch marks while a deeply moisturising hair mask adds lustre and shine. It’s a perfect spa treatment for all expectant mothers after their first trimester and will restore that wonderful pregnancy glow.”
Priced at HK$1,400 the Body and Bump pregnancy treatment is ideal for women from their second trimester and onwards. All therapists applying the treatment have been trained in specific techniques to ensure the safety and comfort of each guest. Please note: women are advised not to have spa treatments during the first 12 weeks of pregnancy.
About the Body and Bump pregnancy spa treatment: To begin the treatment, the mother-to-be is gently positioned on her side and supported by luxurious pillows, the bed tilted slightly upwards. The therapist begins with a full-body massage, paying lots of attention to the shoulders and lower back to ease muscular tension caused by the extra weight carried.
A soft scent from rose and camomile oils encourages deep relaxation. The full-body massage is followed by a blissful hydrating facial that gives immediate results: skin is gently cleansed and exfoliated and then a rose hydrating mask is applied. During the facial the feet are gently exfoliated, carefully massaged with warm towels and then drenched in moisturiser leaving them soft. The next step involves a Philip Kingsley hair mask, which is applied during a comforting head massage to soften and deep condition hair. The treatment ends with a heavenly head and shoulder massage that will leave ladies floating on air and feeling lighter than they have in months!
The delicately scented products used are chosen for their nourishing and softening capabilities and key ingredients include: rose, evening primrose oil, and shea butter
