Reading World of Warcraft official website, discovered some new info related to upcoming WoW expansion Wrath of The Lich King, which will officially arrive to stores in November 13, 2008.
Wintergrasp as they call it will be the newly added region in Northrend which will introduce a whole new kind of open-world PvP to World of Warcraft. "Wintergrasp is designed to engage players across the whole region in intense PvP on and unprecedented scale" as they say.
The objective of Wintergrasp will be simple - Attackers will have to mount an intense assault to overcome the fortress's thick walls and the point defenses that dot the towers guarding the inner keep. The defenders, on the other hand, need to rely on siege-breaking vehicles, defensive turrets, and excellent teamwork to retain ground control and prevent the attackers from breaching the keep's walls. Attackers will only be able to gain entrance by breaching one of the keep's walls, and so clever use of the siege vehicles is the key to taking Wintergrasp.
An interesting fact is that some vehicles will be usable to protect and defend. Also there will be some destructible structures that will have a certain amount of health. Vehicles will come in use here to brake these walls. "Both offense and defense have access to workshops that can produce vehicles specially designed to help the two sides accomplish their objectives". There will be limited vehicle slots and every vehicle takes 1 slot. As a player earns rank, he or she gains access to more powerful vehicles. However, rank is reset after each battle. The time will be limited to 45 min, within which the attackers must capture the keep.
Here's the vehicles that will be used in this PvP: Forsaken Catapult (abilities:Plague Barrel, Flame Breath); Demolisher (abilities: Hurl Boulder, Ram); Siege Engine (abilities: Fire Cannon, Ram).
I must say it will be a Big Bang in WoW PvP because of the vehicles that will be used to attack and defend and also destructible structures will be something new and unseen in WoW. From my point of view i think these vehicles will change slightly everything in PvP world - PvP tactics, Gear, Talents etc.
