FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Oct 27, 2008 -
BUFFALO, NY…Birdair, Inc., the leading specialty contractor of lightweight long-span roofing systems and tensile structures throughout the world, will attend the Greenbuild International Conference and Expo, November 19-21 at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, Boston, MA.

Birdair will be on hand at Cabot Corporation’s booth to discuss Tensotherm(TM) with Nanogel(R), the world’s first insulated fabric membrane roofing system, developed by Birdair, Cabot Corporation and Geiger Engineers.

Tensotherm combines lightweight design flexibility with the insulative properties of Cabot Corporation’s Nanogel aerogel, a lightweight insulation layer that significantly enhances the material’s thermal performance while maximizing natural daylighting.

With a variety of sustainable attributes, Tensotherm contributes to US Green Building Council Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED(R)) credits in the categories of insulation, green materials, innovation and daylighting. Additionally, Nanogel aerogel holds Cradle to CradleSM silver certification from MBDC.

“Tensotherm now makes it possible for fabric membrane to function as a viable mainstream roofing option that also promotes daylighting,” said Marty Augustyniak, co-inventor of Tensotherm and director of engineering for Birdair.

“We look forward to presenting the unique capabilities of Tensotherm to the green building and design community at Greenbuild,” said Kevin Mayer, vice president of business development, sales and marketing for Birdair.

The Greenbuild International Conference and Expo plays host to a variety of green industry professionals from around the world. This year’s theme is "Revolutionary Green: Innovations for Global Sustainability.”

Greenbuild attendees and interested media are encouraged to visit Birdair at Cabot Corporation’s Booth #425 to learn more about Tensotherm with Nanogel. Also visit www.birdair.com.
