Saturday, November 8, 2008, 4 to 5:30 PM: Join us for a cozy afternoon of exquisite Tuscan wines at North Georgia's most beautiful winery. Noted Italian wine expert Michael Venezia, (Corporate Director Wine Education United Distributors, Atlanta) will be on hand to lead a guided tasting of some of Tuscany's finest vintages--including the 2006 Frescobaldi Pomino Bianco, Chardonnay; 2006 Lucente, and 2004 Tignanello. Guests will taste through six wines while Venezia discusses their origin and what makes each one special. Wines will be paired throughout the tasting with artisan cheeses and charcuterie. Cost to attend tasting is $60 per person.
Following the tasting, guests are invited to stay on for dinner at Le Vigne where Executive Chef Steve Hewins will deliver a menu inspired by the wines of Tuscany. Dinner prices range from $8 to $30 and wines will be available by the taste, glass, bottle or for take-away purchase. Reservations are highly recommended for both events. Saturday, November 15, 2008, 7 PM: Arcadian Winemaker Dinner with Joe Davis
Inspired by the great traditions of Burgundian winemaking, Joe Davis has been making wine in California's Central Coast region since 1998. Using French artisan methods and hands-on vineyard management, Davis's Arcadian label consistently receives top marks from the world's most respected wine writers. For the dinner at Montaluce, Davis will be pouring an array of his best 2005 wines including Sleepy Hollow Chardonnay, Fiddlestix and Pisoni Pinot Noirs, and Stolpman and Purisima Syrahs. Complementing the elegance and depth of each of these wines, Executive Chef Steve Hewins will present a sumptuous, multi-course pairing menu reflecting the finest flavors of the fall seasons.
Cost per person for the evening is $115, inclusive of tax and gratuity. This event marks Davis's second visit to Montaluce this year, and the event is expected to sell out quickly. Reservations are required.
