Master David Turnbull Awarded "Coordinator of the Year"

Master David Turnbull of DC Turnbull's TaeKwonDo was awarded the title of "Coordinator of the Year" by the organizers of the Disney World Martial Arts Festival on Friday for his work with promoting the martial arts and the festival this past year.

Festival organizers Rob Hartmann and  David Sklar presented a beautiful glass award for Master Turnbull's work in the martial arts community in general and the Disney Martial Arts Festival in particular.  Master Turnbull spoke to the group for several minutes answering questions about his approach to integrating various aspects of the diverse martial arts community in the industry-wide quest to bring martial arts into the American mainstream.

David Turnbull is well known in the martial arts community for sharing tournament information and in setting up pre-competition scrimmages to prepare competitors through his website (http://www.floridataekwondofederation.com.)  He always takes the time to recognize the efforts of his students, volunteers, and the families involved in his competitions as well and has a loyal following. Additionally, he is the president of a state-wide organization that promotes sportsmanship among martial artists and active at the national level as well.

Master Turnbull and his wife Master Wendi Turnbull of 2 Dog Photography (http://www.myspace.com/2dogphotography) were also recognized as leaders in the martial arts world during the opening ceremonies at the Festival at the Festival's opening ceremony.
