JONESBORO, G.A. - The Decorum Group is preparing to launch its etiquette, mentorship and leadership training programs in January 2009 at Clayton County locations. The goal of these programs is to provide a safe environment that is conducive for children to gain personal development skills. Children ages 6-19 will be introduced to a host of programs to empower, inspire, equip and enhance their social skills as they participate in workshops, field trips, community service and sports activities.
These programs focus on the knowledge acquired between school textbooks and realized success including social protocol, dining etiquette, conflict resolution, good sportsmanship, team building and leadership. When these skills are acquired, our children will be equipped to communicate effectively, work well with others, make sound decisions and solve social conflicts in a win-win manner. Additionally, these programs will foster self-esteem, increase academic achievement and create strong leaders who will enjoy enriched lives and solid relationships. Program details can be viewed by visiting www.thedecorumgroup.com or by sending an email to info@thedecorumgroup.com.
CEO and Founder of The Decorum Group, Charly McCracken, has discovered research to support her theory that when social skills are applied, students excel. According to research conducted by SocialSmartsTM – the leading educational program dedicated to developing excellent social skills in children of all ages – that in schools where one of their programs for social skills was implemented, reading test scores increased as much as 20 points per year. Moreover, Ms. McCracken believes that in such a competitive society, good manners open doors and provide opportunities that may not otherwise be realized by those who do not practice them. According to a recent study conducted by Harvard University, Stanford Research Institute and the Carnegie Mellon Foundation, 85% of our children’s future success depends on social skills. The Decorum Group’s dynamic curriculum of core classes and six-month mentorship programs is ready to address the social skill needs of our children.
The Decorum Group is managed by three other key principles, Ms. Connie Slaughter, VP Program Administration-
