Dormitory boredom was well and truly busted at Eton College recently when one of the pupils set up an indoor golf kit called Targetline in his living space.
Finding something to do at half term is some task, especially later in the year when it’s raining most of the time. So when an Eton sixth former was introduced to Targetline (http://www.targetline.co.uk) he jumped at the chance to set it up in his dorm, much to the delight of his contemporaries.
PGA Professional Paul Thornley, director and founder of Targetline, was delighted his indoor golf practice aid was able to dissolve the school holiday boredom he remembers only too well.
Competitive Streak
When asked why he thought Targetline had made such an impact with the youngsters he had this to say: “Targetline is a golf swing practice aid first and foremost, and it’s one that gives instant feedback; something any golfer will know is a vital feature for practice. It’s this feedback feature that also allows Targetline to be used as an indoor golf competition;
Targetline: the golf aid with a unique scoring system
The Targetline concept involves hitting a lightweight ball off a raised platform with a shortened weighted club. Because of this the swing and shot actually feel and sound realistic. The net, made exclusively for indoor use, is specially designed to catch the ball into one of five numbered pockets.
The unique scoring system reflects how accurately each shot has been hit. Recording the points allocated for each shot allows progress to be tracked when practising, or a winner to be announced at the end of a competition.
