The Atlanta Botanical Garden held its 27th annual Garden of Ball on Sept. 27, 2008, and Peachtree Hills Place members lent their support through the Presenting Sponsorship of the Ball. Peachtree Hills Place is an upscale residential community in Buckhead for people ages 55 and older seeking a secure, independent lifestyle. Many Peachtree Hills Place members support the Atlanta Botanical Garden, so the sponsorship was a natural fit.
“Our members at Peachtree Hills Place have special ties to the Atlanta Botanical Garden,” said E. Andrew (Andy) Isakson, managing partner of Isakson-Barnhart Co., founder and member of Peachtree Hills Place. “Many of our members are long time supporters of the Garden and its mission of developing and maintaining plant collections for display, education, conservation and enjoyment. So sponsoring the Garden of Eden was something our members were passionate about.”
The black-tie gala, attended by 320, was chaired by Terance and Jennifer Fowler. As a special tribute, the evening honored Mrs. J. B. (Dottie) Fuqua, who, along with her late husband, J.B. Fuqua, has been one of the Garden’s most dedicated and generous supporters. Jennifer Fowler is their granddaughter. “Our sponsorship was poignant in this year, when a grandmother is being honored through the efforts of her granddaughter,”
The theme for this year’s Ball was Bell’acqua, a salute to that increasingly precious resource, “beautiful water”. The theme was a nod to the new, environmentally sustainable facilities scheduled to open at the Garden next year.
The sponsorship was also a fit because of the conservation-
“The Site Smart program is a four-hour certification program to use in training construction superintendents and equipment operators on the role of trees in the environment and best practices for tree preservation in partnership with the Chattahoochee Nature Center and the Georgia Forestry Commission,”
When completed, Peachtree Hills Place, located in Buckhead in the heart of metro Atlanta, will include 274 independent residences – consisting of 266 villas and eight single-family homes – and 36 skilled nursing and memory care suites. Assisted living care will also be offered on site. All Peachtree Hills Place members will enjoy a full slate of amenities, on-site retail establishments, dining, full service spa, and fitness center.
Isakson Barnhart is Georgia’s developer of nationally recognized, award-winning residential communities for those age 55 and over. The company’s vision to provide amenity-rich, independent living for discerning adults was born out of the personal experiences of the family of Ed and Julia Isakson after their difficult search for a community that would provide an active lifestyle combined with on-site health care. This mission manifested itself in Park Springs, the company’s flagship property in Stone Mountain. Park Springs was nationally recognized by the 50+ Housing Council of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) as the recipient of the 2005 Platinum Award for best large CCRC as well as the Gold Award for interior design. Now, Isakson Barnhart introduces another award-winning residential community in Peachtree Hills Place, named the best “On the Boards” large CCRC by the same group in 2006. Isakson Barnhart has carefully selected Life Care Services, LLC, the leading management company of senior communities in the nation, to partner in the planning and management of Peachtree Hills Place and Park Springs.
