Ellington's E-books Keep Inspiration Affordable

Downloadable booklets for writers are both inspirational and affordable

Oct. 23, 2008 - PRLog -- Author and teacher Devon Ellington knows writers sometimes need a creative boost, no matter what stage of a career.  “Sometimes, going back to basic exercises offers a good opportunity to climb out of a creative rut,” she says.
She’s got a handful of ebooklets out to support writers and jump start their creativity:  Sensory Perceptions, 5 in 10, and Writing Rituals.  Each booklet inspires and provokes creative output.  Ellington, who publishes under a half a dozen names in both fiction and non-fiction, and whose plays are produced around the world, has a well-known blog on the writing life called Ink in My Coffee.  (http://devonellington.wordpress.com).  Her novella Hex Breaker, the first Jain Lazarus adventure, was released in August, and the second, Old-Fashioned Detective Work, just went to contract in anticipation of a Spring 2009 release.  She recently completed her second consecutive year teaching her dialogue workshop at The Muse Online Writers’ Conference.
Sensory Perceptions, the most recent addition to her line, takes the writer through a seven week course working on a series of short stories.  Each week focuses on a specific sense.  The writer creates one story specific to the sense, and edits a longer story the builds over the seven weeks, as each sense is added.  This book retails at the unbelievably reasonable price of $1.29 USD and, in terms of what the writer gets out of it, worth several hundred times the purchase price.
5 in 10:  Create 5 Short Stories in Ten Weeks is another steal, at FIFTY CENTS!  This booklet takes the writer on a course of ten weeks’ worth of creating five short stories or a chunk of a novel, using odd, hidden gems found hidden on the newswires for inspiration.  Again, the content is worth many times the price.
The final ebooklet, Writing Rituals:  Ideas to Support Creativity (appearing under the Cerridwen Iris Shea name), walks the writer through a series of rituals dealing with everything from moving past writer’s block to sending it out.  It’s only THIRTY NINE CENTS.  This is not a misprint.
“We’re all struggling financially,” says Ellington.  “I wanted to keep inspiration affordable.”
For those who attempt National Novel Writing Month, she offers a free download, 30 Tips for 30 Days  Kick Start Your Novel and Get Out of Your Own Way.    “Nano is free to participants, so I wasn’t about to charge for a handbook on surviving it!”  Ellington grins.  This lifeline for Nano participants will be available for a limited time via a link on Ellington’s website:  http://www.devonellingtonwork.com/bazaar.html.   More information on all the ebooklets is available on that page, with the purchase link via Payloadz.
