Ecoroot Announces New Larger Patent-Pending Reusable Mesh Shopping Bag

Oct. 22, 2008 - PRLog -- Ecoroot announces a new larger version of its patent-pending reusable mesh shopping and grocery bag.  Like the original GBW1000, this bag features a unique mini-billboard to showcase a company’s brand.  Since the bags fold up into a small pocket and store in a purse, these billboards reinforce the customized brand name every time a woman goes into her purse.

With the wide 8” gusset, the new GBW1500 bags can hold up to three times the volume of the original GBW1000 bag, yet still folds to only 6” x 4.5” and weighs just 2.5 ounces.  The sturdy bags can hold more than 30 pounds.

Ecoroot president, Kit Parks, invented the bags when she couldn’t remember to bring in her reusable bags, and was worried about how to clean the bags she owned.  The Ecoroot bags fold into a small pocket to eliminate the need to remember, because they tuck into a purse or pocket.  

Unlike any other reusable shopping or grocery bag on the market, the Ecoroot reusable mesh bag is fully washable not only in the washing machine, but also in the top-rack of the dishwasher.  Consumers can easily sanitize the bags to eliminate worries about cross contamination.  The bags can also be tossed in the dryer.  Competitive bags are usually spot or hand wash only, and rarely dryer safe.

The Ecoroot mesh bag is made from 100% polyester mesh and is fully recyclable.  Because it is made from polyester, it is naturally stain and moisture resistant, and very strong.

Reusable bags have become the hottest accessory in the US market today.  Sales are up over 70% over last year, and are expected to continue their rapid growth due to plastic bag ban initiatives across the country.
