With more and more options in Allied Health certifications employees, like Kepley are taking advantage of furthering their education. “I’m so lucky to have had the opportunity to study radiology specific to chiropractic. Receiving my certificate at the completion of the course made all those hours of class time completely worth it, said Kepley, “I look forward to start taking films.” According to Kepley, the Radiology course covered a wide range of material, comprised of patient positioning, ethical guidelines, X-ray tube parts, radiographic materials, and the role X-ray films play in the diagnosis of a patient; all leading up to the comprehensive, final exam. After passing the exam students are able to begin training at their individual offices in order to begin taking x-rays on a regular basis.
“I am a huge supporter of chiropractic and have experienced the benefits first hand. The ability to play a role in introducing new patients to chiropractic is very rewarding,” said Kepley. Swank Chiropractic continually strives for the highest level of patient service in everyday procedures with each individual. Now, having studied radiology, Kepley is able to offer honest and direct answers to patient inquiries regarding a variety of radiographic topics. “There are times when patients will have a question about radiation safety,” says Kepley, “I’m sure to let them know that each Radiology tech has had the proper training and will carry out precautionary safety measures; it’s critical to assure the patient that they are receiving minimal exposure and the upmost care.”
