Oct. 21, 2008 - PRLog -- FT. MYERS, FLORIDA – Big Gates/SlipNSlide/Atlantic recording artist PLIES sophomore album “Definition of Real” was awarded a Gold certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).  The gold certification marks Plies 2nd consecutive RIAA Gold award in less than one year, his first was received in June of 2008 for his national debut album the “The Real Testament.”  “The Definition of Real” debuted on June 10, 2008 selling over 215,000 units its first week, redefining history as the most albums sold in the first week by a Florida rap artist.  The “Definition of Real” spawned the chart topping singles “Bust It Baby Pt. 2” featuring Neyo and “Please Excuse My Hands” featuring Jamie Foxx and The Dream.  Plies is currently preparing for his 3rd album Da REAList, set to release in stores and online on December 16, 2008.

PLIES, born in the controversial streets of Ft. Myers, Florida Plies began his musical career in 2003 with the guidance of his older brother Ronell “Big Gates” Levatte.  Signed to Big Gates/Slip-N-Slide/Atlantic records, PLIES made an impressive national debut in August of 2007 with his certified gold album The Real Testament which spawned chart topping singles such as “Shawty” feat. T-Pain, “Hypnotized” feat.
