Thirteen year weight-loss veteran and President of Bariatric Support Centers International, Colleen M. Cook will speak at The Bariatric Surgery Conference of the Cascades in Bend, Ore. to educate both bariatric patients and professionals about long-term bariatric support.
This two-day conference provides a forum for an integrated learning experience about bariatric surgery. The conference is of value to primary care physicians, bariatric surgeons, nurses, dieticians, social workers, and other allied health professionals who are involved in the care and management of the morbidly obese patient. Carefully selected national speakers as well as local experts will ensure this is a high quality education event. Several workshops are being designed to complement the plenary sessions and will address many clinical aspects in the management of the morbidly obese patient. Faculty will lead sessions targeted to specific areas of interest to the primary care provider. Additionally, Cook will provide a keynote address for the, "Fall into Fitness" public conference.
Cook, a successful weight-loss surgery patient from 1995, is the founder and president of Bariatric Support Centers International;
Cook will present several of her most requested topics, "Meeting the Long-Term Needs of the Bariatric Patient," "Aspiring Higher," and "Lessons from Long Term Losers." She will be presenting on Saturday, October 25, at 1:00 PM and again at 8:00 PM. The event will be held at the Riverhouse Hotel and Convention Center in Bend, Ore.
