A leading national employment agency has opened a new additional office in Solihull.
Katie Bard Recruitment – part of the Angela Mortimer Group – has opened at Blythe Valley Park, after 16 years in Birmingham city centre.
The company which employs more than 200 consultants placing 1,000 staff daily and 2,000 permanent staff a year, will have five staff operating from its new base.
Kam Vara, a Divisional Leader at Katie Bard, said the aim of the expansion was to attract highly qualified candidates for local jobs and positions across the region.
She said: “We are moving into Solihull because of the the quality of candidates in the retail, professional services, legal, IT and HR sectors.
“We have also recognised that there are a growing number of companies and organisations in those fields who are either expanding in or locating to the area and we want to serve them.
“We have held events in Solihull over the past years and have had a good response both from candidates and from companies so we thought it was time to take the plunge and to move into the area on a full time basis.
“As well as offering a comprehensive recruitment service we also undertake CV counselling, careers advice, seminars which add value to both candidates and clients.”
“My colleague Mike Chapman, who works for AM Legal, and I will be heading up the operation. As well as having a decade of experience in the industry we also both live in Solihull and are very passionate about the area.
“It is clear that we are in an economic downturn and there are more people in jobs market, but that makes our role in sourcing the right candidates for the right posts, more relevant than ever.”
The company employs 25 staff at its regional headquarters in Waterloo Street, in the centre of Birmingham.
