FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Oct 18, 2008 -
After the news of the devastation of Tropical Storm Fay received National attention, dozens of celebrity Smooth Jazz Artists who have embraced the Melbourne, Florida coastline’s Jazz radio station, WGRV “The Groove”, responded by calling the radio station asking how they could help. Many of these artists have performed in Melbourne for “The Groove’s” infamous Smooth Jazz Nights Out. WGRV is now focusing its efforts on making this benefit festival the largest music event of the year, a venture made possible by the generosity of the Nation’s Top Smooth Jazz Musicians.

Station Manager, Randy Bennett expresses his gratitude, “We are deeply touched by the heartfelt generosity of all the musicians who have reached out to us. It makes WGRV “The Groove” very proud to be a part of the Smooth Jazz Industry. When we received phone calls from so many of the artists  showing their support, we knew that we had to find a way to bring all that positive energy together and let the world know that the Smooth Jazz community cares.” Blake Aaron adds, "Randy Bennett of  “The Groove” and the fans of WGRV have been incredible supporters of my music and career. When I learned many of the people of the Space Coast area lost their homes to this horrific storm, Randy and I talked about putting a benefit concert together with a few smooth jazz friends. Once word got out, the response from all of the smooth jazz community was overwhelming and we are really grateful”. Smooth Jazz Cares is the theme, evident by the number of Smooth Jazz musicians that have opened their hearts, offering to participate in this benefit. What began as a one day festival has turned into an entire weekend event!

The "Smooth Jazz Cares" festival will be held Saturday, October 25 and Sunday, October 26 at the Wickham Park Amphitheater and will feature over twenty top Jazz stars including Blake Aaron, Nick Colionne, Nils, Marion Marenthal, Jeff Kawisha, Najee, Warren Hill, and many surprise guests.
