Los Angeles, California – Due to the overwhelming success of the first “My Name is Earl” walk-on role charity auction, Food on Foot and Auctionwire are happy to announce another auction of the same caliber. The new auction will be launching tonight, October 17th, 2008 at 9:00 p.m. PST at www.auctionwire.com. Food on Foot and Auctionwire are thrilled to be able to give up-and-coming actors and fans of the show a second chance to win this once-in-a-lifetime experience to be an extra on the Emmy-award winning series.
The first “My Name is Earl” auction was held earlier last month and created a buzz in the media and online world. There were many hopeful bidders who took part in the 10-day auction to win the highly coveted package. The lucky winner of the first auction plunked down a generous amount for charity and will be on their way to making a memorable debut in one of this season’s highly anticipated episodes.
The hit series, My Name is Earl, is back for a dynamic fourth season. The premise of the show is based on Jason Lee’s character, Earl J. Hickey, and his friends as he tries to spread good karma and right the wrongs from his past after winning a small fortune in the lottery. The show has won many notable awards such as the People’s Choice Award, Television Critics Awards, Screen Actors Guild Award and Emmy Awards for writing, directing, casting and editing.
Food on Foot is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (Tax ID# 31-1581053) dedicated to providing the poor and homeless of Los Angeles with nutritious meals, clothing, and assistance in the transition to employment and life off the streets. What initially began in 1996 as the distribution of meals from the trunk of a car has since grown through the dedication of its volunteers, and now serves more than 500 meals each week. Food on Foot also runs a 7-day-a-week community clean up program called “Work for Food” in which individuals pick up trash in exchange for fast food and grocery store gift cards. The ultimate goal of Work for Food is to help these individuals into full-time jobs and permanent housing and off of all government assistance.
