The Best And Worst Mascaras In The Beauty Industry

On the quest to find the perfect mascara (or driven to develop her own), Catherine Horgan set out to uncover just which brands and formulas performed best - on both top and bottom lashes.

Oct. 17, 2008 - PRLog -- Since the day she was old enough to wear make-up, Catherine Horgan has had a love/hate relationship with mascara. She requires a lot - volume and length, plus no smudging, smearing or flaking. As Chief Personal Stylist for Closet of Style (http://ClosetOfStyle.com), Catherine spends her time styling clients from early morning into evening. She does not have the time to fuss with her make-up. Her mascara has to stay put all day long and work just as hard as she does.

Not only was Catherine Horgan pleasantly surprised with the results, she can now cross “Create The Best Mascara” off of her list. Recently published on her blog, [my] style files (http://www.mystylefiles.com/2008/09/02/the-mascara-report/), as well as LA-Story (http://www.la-story.com/beauty/my_style_files_sleuths_out_the_best_mascaras_on_co_2/), The Mascara Report covers 34 brands and 45 formulas. The report provides details on a wide variety of mascaras based on a number of consumer requirements. All mascaras were tested on top and bottom lashes, with no make-up (eyeliner or eye shadow) underneath bottom lashes, for all day wear and into the evening. Two coats were applied to top lashes, unless otherwise noted in the report, and no eye cream was applied.

“The Mascara Report is fantastic. Catherine went above and beyond (to the last lash),” said Stevie Wilson, Movie Correspondent and Contributing Writer for Gather.com and Editor for LA-Story.
