KITCHENER, ONTARIO, – Marking the final day of the 40th Oktoberfest is Oktober-Fist The Bavarian Bouts, live amateur boxing matches taking place Saturday, October 18 at the Schwaben Club.

Oct. 16, 2008 - PRLog -- KITCHENER, ONTARIO, – Marking the final day of the 40th Oktoberfest is Oktober-Fist The Bavarian Bouts, live amateur boxing matches taking place Saturday, October 18 at the Schwaben Club.

With proceeds benefiting local youth boxers, a number of Kitchener fighters are confirmed on the bill including Devon Saunders, Natasha Spence, Ryan Jantzi and Lucas "Death" Rowe. This Oktoberfest event is also an opportunity to meet the fighters and celebrities such as Olympic boxer Rolande Moses, who competed in Beijing this past summer, Christina Schmidt, star of Degrassi: The Next Generation, and the recently-crowned Miss Oktoberfest Natalie MacNeil.

Featured in the main event is two-time Golden Gloves Light-Heavyweight Champion Julius “Caesar” Bunda of Kitchener facing off against Belleville native Tony Legrano. “This is a very exciting match-up!” says Syd Vanderpool, CEO, Boxing by Syd Vanderpool, the host organization for the event. “I am sure that fans are going to be shouting for more at the end.”

Tickets for the afternoon-long Oktober-Fist are $20.00 each; doors open at 11:30am, first fight begins at 12pm. Tickets can be purchased at www.ticketmaster.ca or by calling GameDay Fitness (519.576.3813), the Schwaben Club (519.742.7979) or the Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest Office (519.570.4267).
