Deeply concerned about the most pressing issues affecting our daily lives today, UCI’s Office of University Advancement challenged EMG with building a website that not only generates leads but that would also maximize donor participation. As a leader, innovator and pioneer, the University aimed to leverage its strengths in teaching, research and public service to build relationships and rally support among campus affiliates including parents, students, alumni, community and corporate sponsors.
“This microsite positively builds awareness around UCI’s mission,” said EMG Director of Project Management Ashley Matsui. “In spite of tight timelines, the implementation of this website was truly a success. Our thoughtful approach toward leveraging the campus’ strengths not only cuts through the clutter of competing organizations but also enhances a strong and authentic emotional connection with UCI’s intended donor audience. Ultimately, this will inspire donors to support UCI’s cause especially over the next 5 to 6 years.”
To effectively and consistently communicate UCI’s values and fundraising goals, EMG was driven to create a well-balanced and attention grabbing website that primarily focused on the fundamentals of giving. Straightforward navigation and visually appealing user interface accompanied by inspiring content, striking videos and images provide prospective donors with a total online branded user experience. The website also incorporates a “campaign progress meter” application which gives up-to-date statistics on the fundraising milestones met by the campaign.
Finally, EMG integrated the website with the University’s secure online payment system in which targeted donors can conveniently contribute over the web. In turn, this effort will hopefully alleviate the hassle and costs associated with offline donations and drive more people to donate online.
