Seattle, WA - Comedy Time, Inc., a leading provider of short-form comedy content for mobile devices, will be filming live at Laughs Comedy Spot in Kirkland, WA on October 30th at 8:30 pm.
The Comedy Time Network, launched in July, 2004 as one of the first made-for-mobile networks, offers a line-up of the best stand-up comics working the comedy club circuit today exclusively for mobile and broadband applications. They will be filming in Washington to add new content to their vast offering of comedic talent available to mobile and broadband users.
Comedy Time chose Laughs Comedy Spot because of their strong comedy connections and their ability to draw top name acts to their Kirkland, Washington location. Owned by long time comedian and club promoter Dave Dennison and his wife Angela, Laughs opened a little more than a year ago but has developed a national reputation for its headline acts, intimate setting, and professional management. In September, the club was also chosen as one of the select comedy clubs across the country to participate in the live filming of the long awaited release of comedian Mitch Hedberg’s “Do You Believe in Gosh” CD set by COMEDY CENTRAL RECORDS.
“I am so excited about the opportunities that continue to come our way,” says Dennison. “Being part of anything that can help people feel good, when the paper says there isn’t much to laugh about, is why we opened this club. Now, by showcasing some top comedians for Comedy Time to add to their mobile comedy offerings, it’s like having our comedy club available to anyone with a cell phone or modem across the world.”
Dennison himself is a regular user of Comedy Time’s content, which he accesses from his own cell phone, and he is not alone. In the U.S., content is distributed to over 3,500,000 subscribers and is one of the most popular mobile channels currently available on Sprint, VCAST, Cingular, MobiTV, Altel, Amp'd and U.S. Wireless. Internationally, Comedy Time is distributed in the United Kingdom, Denmark, Sweden, Canada, Mexico, South America, South Africa, the Philippines, Eastern Europe, and Singapore and is rapidly growing its international presence. Content is also available on broadband as a channel on AOL Video, Google Video, Yahoo!, Real Networks Superpass, ROO and others.
For those that wish to experience the merging of technology with comedy at the live recording at Laughs Comedy Spot on Thursday October 30th at 8:30 pm, tickets are still available through www.ticketmaster.com. Starting at 7:00 pm, ticket holders can also participate in Laughs’ Wine 101, a wine education and tasting class held every Thursday night with Master Sommelier David Croan.
