Guilford, CT September 29, 2008 - In today’s economy people are staying in their homes longer. This means that many are looking for more customization and one-of-a-kind elements to use when decorating their homes. Jacob Kennedy, a metal designer who has worked primarily in commercial projects, has observed that more and more homeowners are interested in his pieces.
A San Diego native, Jacob Kennedy is a highly skilled metal design artist that has recently relocated to Branford, Connecticut. Jacob began working in steel after a friend enlisted his skills to create ornamental work such as handrails and gates for commercial clients. This love for metal design inspired Kennedy to launch his own business creating custom metal designs.
Jacob’s custom metal designs include furniture, light fixtures, custom gates, doors and modern architectural landscape pieces. His work can be seen in commercial buildings throughout San Diego in salons, restaurants and spas—most notably Hyde-Edwards Salon & Spa in San Diego.
A renaissance in modern design has refocused attention on steel as a base material for furniture and fixtures—steel is the base material for most of Kennedy's designs. However, other materials such as wood, glass, stone, concrete, marble, porcelain and acrylic are often included in the mix. By hand selecting these materials, the finished furniture pieces are of the highest quality.
Although Jacob Kennedy lives and works in Branford, CT, he continues to offer custom designed pieces to clients from coast to coast. Wink Art & Design is proud to display his steel candelabras, wall sconces, and benches. Wink Art & Design is the newest hot spot in this quintessential New England town.
