Dallas,Texas -OnTheFlix.com formerly a full blown movie site has now dummied it down to a simple movie,tv,music,and entertainment blog & forum site.This change was made in an effort to provide more original content for it's readers claims owner of the site, Andre Braddox.
Andre Braddox also stated that, "We were having to use to many rss feeds that contain other people's content to keep the old site structure updated.The problem is that it doesn't work well with Google.Now with the new simplified blog and forum structure we can focus on writing 100% of our content which has already given us better search engine rankings on Google. We love it,lol !"
The site is using the popular Wordpress blogging platform. The homepage sports a unique dark three column design with a simple navigation along the top left hand side which includes: about,categories,and archives links.The about section gives a brief introduction about the site. The categories section includes links for movie blog posts,tv blog posts,music blog posts,and possibly more in the future depending on how much original content they can crank out. The archives section contains all previous blog posts dated by month.
The right hand side of the site contains a handy little search bar,register,and sign in tabs. Users can use the search bar to search for posts under certain keywords. The register tab is for readers who would like to subscribe to the blog and be sent email notifications of new posts.The sign in tab is for subscribers to sign in and post comments on posts.
Then down the middle of the page are were the posts are located with alot of imagery to go along with each blog post. The site author writes posts on movie reviews,tv show reviews,music reviews,and anything involving the entertainment world in general.
At the top of the site above the header logo is a link to the forum (which is powered by Simple Machines Forums) where visitors can go and sign up to trade messages with one another on multiple topics.Some of the topics include : general movie talk,movie reviews,music,tv,celebrities,coming soon movies,dvd,reality tv,movie trivia,and video games. More topics could be added at anytime depending on what members want according to the owner.
