Whole Sea Salt® Seeks to Popularize Healthy Salt

The recently launched Whole Sea Salt® brand announced its marketing theme: Salt can be healthy.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PR Log (Press Release)Oct 14, 2008 – Whole Sea Salt® Seeks to Popularize Healthy Salt

New York, NY -- Oct 14, 2008 -- The recently launched Whole Sea Salt® brand announced its marketing theme: Salt can be healthy.

"There are nutritional hierarchies for the different types of flour, sugar, and oil," says company founder Sholom Yaffa, "and the same holds true for salt." However, Yaffa estimates the healthy salt industry's market share is less than one and a half percent, a negligible figure considering the fantastic growth the health food industry has experienced over the past decade.

Whole Sea Salt®'s marketing push is aimed at educating the public of the health benefits of consuming unprocessed salt. The brand believes lack of awareness is the reason for the healthy salt industry's stunted growth.

Whole Sea Salt® initiated its campaign with the creation of a website that covers salt related issues, which the company claims cannot be found anywhere else on the Internet. The concise articles on wholeseasalt.com visit topics such as the differences between natural and processed salt, the nutrients present in Whole Sea Salt®, and the salt-hypertension relationship. Plans are underway for expanding this library. "Lately I've been learning how the adrenal glands and salt interact," states Yaffa.

Yaffa has a positive outlook for the future of the healthy salt industry and his brand, but he predicts the journey will be tough because of what he calls the "salt phobia" in American culture. Says Yaffa, "we have to demonstrate to the consumer that salt can be healthy."

If you'd like more information about this topic, or to schedule an interview, please contact Sholom Yaffa at syaffa@wholeseasalt.com or (646) 248-6481.
