This week the website MaxtheGoldenRetriever.com announced the official launch of the Canine Party 2008. The new political party, also known as K9P 2008, will support Canine candidates who stand for REAL change in 2008.
Addressing readers of his world renowned website blog, Max the Golden Retriever, primary contributor to http://MaxtheGoldenRetriever.com, noted "It's time to throw the donkeys and the elephants out of Washington and let a real animal do the job! It's time for a Canine President."
The Canine Party 2008 has already begun looking at changes needed in Washington. For instance, on National Security concerns the Party is advocating the appointment of a Rottweiler as Secretary of Defense and the selection of a Chihuahua named Chiquillo to head Border Security and Immigration.
Further expanding on the Canine vision for a secure America, the Canine Party 2008 has put forth a plan to install an invisible fence around the country. Party officials acknowledge there are some details yet to be worked out, like how to get would-be terrorists to wear shock collars, but are confident the plan will work.
To ensure an open government the Party is also advocating changes to the White House, or “Dog House” as it will be referred to during a Canine Presidency. The Front Lawn will be turned into a public off-lease dog park and, following a vigorous debate among Party members, the Party is advocating that all Presidential butt-sniffing and leg humping take place in this new, open environment.
To illustrate the importance of a Canine Party President in 2008, Max the Golden Retriever asks potential candidates "Are you ready for REAL change in 2008?" Further he encourages potential candidates to Keep On Wagging! and reminds them of his life philosophy, "If the world gives you tennis balls... play fetch."
Canines who are interested in joining the Canine Party 2008 or who would like to support another Canine, are encouraged to visit the Official Election 2008 Canine Party Site at http://maxthegoldenretriever.com/
Canine Party 2008 candidates will be listed on a special section of the website and will be listed in a National Press Release planned for November 3rd.
