Director/actor/writer Michael Worth, recently walked off with two of VISIONFEST'S most coveted awards: the Domani Vision Award for Emerging Talent, and the Jack Nance "Breakthrough Performance" Award. Both awards were presented to Michael Worth honoring him as a filmmaker, and also recognizing his powerful acting turn for “GOD’S EARS.” Michael Worth also wrote the aesthetically gripping tale about an autistic man who aspires to be a professional boxer and his pursuit to find love within the confines of his “condition.”
Michael Worth and his production company Grizzly Peak Films were chosen by David Mamet to direct his next project "COME BACK TO SORRENTO" after viewing Worth's film festival award winning gem,  "GOD'S EAR'S", which certainly validates Worth’s ability as a filmmaker.
Michael Worth just finished directing Eric Stoltz and Camryn Manheim in the WWII film "FT. McCOY."
Worth’s company Grizzly Peak Films, in conjunction with producer Gigi Garner (James Garner’s Daughter) are in the process of securing financing to go into production on the much anticipated project with Mamet and Pidgeon,  “COME BACK TO SORRENTO.”
David Mamet, the Oscar-nominated writer of "Wag the Dog" recently added another directorial credit to his own resume with the mixed martial arts hit "Red Belt." Some of his previous films include "The Untouchables," "Hannibal," "Glengarry Glen Ross" and "The Verdict."
The screenplay for "COME BACK TO SORRENTO" was adapted by Mamet and his wife, actress/singer/songwriter Rebecca Pidgeon, from a novel penned by Dawn Powell. Actor Rebecca Pidgeon is securely attached and William H. Macy and Felicity Huffman are “rumored” for this poignant relationship driven period piece set in the 1930's.
