DC590+ Integrator Series 2
Parker SSD Drives, part of the Automation Group of Parker Hannifin, the world’s leading manufacturer of motion and control technologies, has announced the launch of the next generation of its highly successful DC590+ family of DC drives. The DC590+ Integrator Series 2 is the latest in an impressive line of DC drives products from Parker SSD spanning the last 30 years and offers unprecedented levels of control over a wide range of DC motor applications, improving both performance and profitability.
Featuring a new 32-bit control architecture, the DC590+ benefits from the same function block programming capability as Parker’s versatile AC690+ AC drive. This provides users with an extremely flexible control structure allowing an almost infinite combination of functions to be realised with ease. Each control function (an input, output, process PID for example) is represented as a software block that can be freely interconnected to all other blocks to provide any desired action; in some cases alleviating the need of a PLC.
Despatched pre-configured as a standard DC drive, the DC590+ can be operated directly from the box with minimal adjustment, or alternatively users can select from a number of pre-defined macros dedicated to section control such as winder/unwinder, dancer control, PID and load control, to quickly configure more complex applications.
To improve operational flexibility still further, the drive communicates with all popular industrial protocols, including Ethernet, ProfiBus, ControlNet, DeviceNet and CANOpen, making it ideally suited to integration into larger multi-motor systems.
The DC590+ can be programmed using the same CE Lite or DSE Lite software as Parker’s AC range of drives, simplifiying configuration, parameterisation, monitoring and diagnostics.
DC590+ can also be ordered as a “ready to install” drive package called the DRV. This is a single integrated module that includes all the associated power components within a single package. This innovative approach radically reduces design time, panel space, wiring time and cost. The DRV concept is unique to Parker and comes from the experience gained from thousands of successful applications installed across a diverse range ofindustries.
The DC590+ is available in either four quandrant regenerative or two quandrant non-regenerative configurations with ratings up to 2700 amps and supply voltages up to 660V.
