Merriam, KS, 13-10-2008: Green Car Journal has voted the 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid Green Car of the Year. The 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid, apart from being a low-emissions model, consumes lesser fuel compared to other V8s. In tests this magazine conducted, its fuel consumption was down by 30 percent overall.
Further, in city conditions, where the SUV is driven the most, it consumed nearly 50 percent less fuel than its competitors in its segment, such as Malibu; Mazda Tribute; Saturn Aura and Nissan Altima. These five hybrid models made it to the final list after an elimination round that consisted of 12 V8 models.
The jury also weighed in other factors for this award. The duration of time this technology was in use with the manufacturer, the quantity of such vehicles produced by the manufacturer, and the opportunity these environment-
