Briarcliffe College President Dr. George Santiago, Jr. has named Whitestone, Queens resident Yvette Aguiar as the new Chair of the College’s Department of Criminal Justice.   The Criminal Justice Department’s Associate in Science (A.S.) degree program enjoys significant enrollment at this practical career-focused college, with courses available at all three campuses — Queens, Bethpage and Patchogue.
"Ms. Aguiar brings an impressive professional as well as educational background to Briarcliffe College,” said Santiago.  “The enrollment in our Criminal Justice program has spiked and her real-world knowledge will be invaluable in responding to our students’ interest.”
The Criminal Justice A.S. degree at Briarcliffe College prepares students for careers in Homeland Security, policing, private investigation, corrections, probation and parole.   Students in the Criminal Justice program may also find employment in the social services field, counseling and law.
