PRLog (Press Release) - Oct 09, 2008 -
Valley Kettlebell Experts Troy M. Anderson, Josh Henkin, and Ken Urakawa are proud to announce their kettlebell workshop Elite Performance Unleashed: Taking Tactical Fitness to the Next Level.  The primary goal of this four hour workshop is to reveal the significant advantages in fitness level, time efficiency, variety of exercise, and  the ‘real world’ application that the kettlebell will deliver to first responders such as Law Enforcement, Fire, and Military personnel.

During this initial workshop, Phoenix police officers will be exposed to the basics of kettlebell training with several micro workouts, culminating with an end-of-workshop Fitness Challenge.

Anderson, a former a military member, said “Our goal with this workshop is to give them a tool that is brutally effective and produces results that shine through in life threatening situations; with the limited time and the high levels of stress that these men and women encounter, their fitness program must fit their way of life”

Kettlebells have been added to many police, fire and military fitness programs around the country, and for good reason:  they dole out high levels of fitness in very short periods of time, often as little as fifteen to twenty minutes, two or three times per week.

In an effort to provide an absolute top of the line experience, each officer will also receive a thirty-five page instructional manual and one instructional DVD.  Beyond that, the experts have numerous on-line instructional and workout videos which the officers will be able to access.   “By piling on the instruction and educational tools, we anticipate that this will be a fitness program that gets used and not one that sits around collecting dust in some back corner,” says Henkin.

By taking the initiative and providing their officers with the cutting edge training being provided at this workshop, the Phoenix Police Department is taking the lead at becoming the valley’s fittest law enforcement organization.

To the lay person the kettlebell may appear intimidating or even dangerous; however for a law enforcement officer it means developing an elite level of strength, endurance, and power, without the need for additional equipment or space.

“This workshop isn’t going to be for the faint of heart.  We are going to push them and challenge them to develop.  The micro-workouts and especially the fitness challenge at the end will really test them.  We’ve only got four hours, and we need to make every minute of it count if we are going to make a difference,” says Urakawa.

The workshop motto is: “We Focus on Your Fitness, so you can focus on saving Lives”
Anderson, Henkin, and Urakawa have been featured on a number of websites world-wide, in newspapers, and on television outlining their cutting-edge training methods.  They have also written numerous articles covering all aspects of kettlebell training as well as other types fitness training.  Their website(s), www.crossfitsouthwest.com,   www.sandbagexercises.com  http://www.atscoaching.com/kettlebellfatloss.html , offer FREE information and fitness programs.
