Popular True Crime Author Yvonne Mason will appear on Radio Station 1220 AM WSRQ with Host Cliff Roles on Friday October 10,2008 at 2:00pm.
Ms. Mason who is the author of the newly released true crime book Silent Scream will be talking about why she decided to write about Florida's first serial killer and how this book has affected her life.
Gerard Schaefer and ex-Martin County Florida Deputy Sheriff began his career in killing in 1966 and it continued until 1972.
Between 1966 and 1972 Schaefer killed as few as nine young women from Ocala to Fort Lauderdale and as many as 34 including Europe and North Africa.
Ms. Mason will be talking about Schaefer eluded and perperated what he thought was a pefect crime one in which he never expected to get caught. She will also explain how Retired FBI Agent Roy Hazelwood used Schaefer to help set up the FBI profiling department.
