Oct. 7, 2008 - PRLog -- When Jaeden Vasqeuez, a five year-old decided to explore the big wide world without his mum, he showed an incredible amount of courage. More than most adults are prepared to give kids credit for.

When the bright yellow school bus looked much more attractive to the five-year old, Jaeden, he decided to get onboard and explore. While living right across the street from Public School 111, Jaeden was supposed to go to the Beacon after-school program next door. But, Jaeden had seen lots of kids clambour onto the bus each night.

Jaeden happily watched the world flash by, as he sat on the bus with the other kids. When 60 year-old grandmother bus driver, Ewers, called, 'Everybody out', at the last stop, what else could Jaeden do but get off? Ewers was totally unaware that Jaeden's mother was not among the parents anxiously waiting for their offspring. The rules were that children were not allowed off the bus unless an adult was waiting for them.

Jaeden however, was totally unfazed by the situation. He found an unsuspecting Good Samaritan who just happened to be walking by and told her, "I'm lost". Quickly the Good Samaritan contacted Jaeden’s school. Leaping into a cab she returned Jaeden safely home. It was the five-year old’s mother who went into shock, when a strange woman on the phone told her, "Excuse me, but I have your son".

Jaeden's mum, Bonilla, received no explanation from the bus company, the Education Department, or the school, a week later. She is now preparing to sue the City, while the parents of the Primary School 111, look on in shock horror. After all, if their kids aren't safe at school, where is their safety for them?

Whose is to blame for the incident? Should the school be held accountable, or the person who put Jaeden on the bus. Perhaps it was the bus driver's fault, who put Jaedon off the bus, though she says she is being used a scapegoat. Maybe it was just that the lovely yellow bus was too big a temptation for an adventurous five-year old.

Jaeden definitely showed the same adventure travel spirit, which led thousands of pioneers in the past, to embark on dangerous and unknown journeys. Journeys that formed the foundation of many a colony.
