Five Seasoned Professinals Join Zenoss

Zenoss Adds Network Management and Systems Management Veterans to Leadership Team from Sun Microsystems, IBM, BMC, CA, and Novell

Oct. 7, 2008 - PRLog -- Annapolis, MD --  Zenoss Inc., a leading provider of commercial open source application systems, and network management software, today announced the expansion of its executive team to add five seasoned professionals in systems management and enterprise software. These additions will help to continue the exponential customer growth and demand for Zenoss’ enterprise-grade open source systems management solutions.

Zenoss has seen triple-digit growth in new customer acquisitions in 2008 adding enterprise customers on six continents and growing the Zenoss open source community to over 40,000 users. Additionally Zenoss has seen growing interest for its solutions in Global 200 companies, leading web-based businesses, government, and managed service providers.

Today the company announced that its Board of Directors has approved the following additions:

-- Chris Farrell, Vice President of Product Marketing, is an application performance management expert and start-up veteran who has held leadership positions in marketing and product management at Wily Technology, IBM, Ericsson, and ClearApp. An early employee at Wily Technology (acquired by CA in 2006), Chris was the company’s first Product Management Director, also running the Field Marketing and Product Marketing teams, and helped to grow the annual revenue to $57 million. Chris comes to Zenoss after holding the position of VP of Marketing at ClearApp (recently acquired by Oracle).

-- Phil Higgs, Director of Federal Sales, was formerly with CA where he was responsible for over $42 million in sales of systems management software to the U.S. Department of Defense and Intelligence communities. Previously Phil was with Network Associates (McAfee) selling security, help desk, network management and anti-virus technologies to government agencies worldwide.

-- Mike Lunt, Director of Engineering, brings deep expertise in Agile development and systems management. Most recently, he was the Director of Engineering for BMC where he oversaw the engineering functions for major releases of enterprise, high availability systems management software.  Located in Austin, TX, Mike will be responsible for worldwide engineering operations.

-- Brian Riley, Director of Global Alliances, joins Zenoss from Novell and prior to that, e-Security.  Brian’s role at Zenoss will be to bring integrated solutions to market by developing partnerships with systems integrators and like-minded enterprise software companies.

-- Brandon Whichard, Director of Product Management, was the Product Line Manager for Sun's Provisioning products. Prior to Sun, he spent five years as a Product Manager at Evity and BMC Software. Brandon was the first product manager for Evity’s SiteAngel Web Monitoring Service solution, which he helped launch in 2000. After BMC’s acquisition of Evity, Brandon became the lead Product Manager on BMC’s PATROL Express system management solution.
