For the second year in a row the Irmo office of ERA WIlder Realty, is partnering with Oak Point Elementary School to raise money for M.D.A.. The campaign is appropriately called "Change a Life" as the money raised will enable children to attend the annual camp held in Sumter every summer, along with aiding children and their families that are fighting the many diseases that fall under MDA. The kickoff is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 3rd at 8:00 A.M. at Oak point Elementary School. On hand will be Candy Welch, BIC from the Irmo Office, Diane Burge, Eric Schroeder, on behalf of MDA and our own MDA family, Julie and Dan Rhoad along with their twin boys, Brett and Jacob.
Each child at Oak Point Elemementary School will be given a change canister and charged with filling theirs up with pocket change from home or from outside donations. The M.D.A. "Change A Life" campaign will run through October 31st. Palmetto Citizens Credit Union has kindly volunteered their services in counting the change.
Awards will be announced on November 7th during the Oak Point Elementary School's general session. The child that raises the most money will be awarded a limo ride to and from school with their closest friends. The winning class will enjoy a pizza party and the class coming in second will have an ice cream social.
Our goal is to exceed the $5000.00 raised last year by Oak Point students, their family’s teachers, and staff for M.D.A.
