CHRIS SMITH, ECO WARRIOR AND EX-TV PRODUCER, IS DETERMINED TO GET THE GENERAL PUBLIC TO LIGHTEN UP WITH THE LAUNCH OF ECO-TUBE’S NEW GREEN VIDEO FUN

London, UK, 7th October 2008, EcoTube (www.eco-tube.com) the fledgling eco video web site and the ‘green YouTube’, today launched a new fun section aimed at generating some lighted-hearted laughs and getting back some perspective in what are pretty gloomy times.

Visitors to the EcoTube website simply follow the link to the fun section where there are a growing number of amusing, green related videos. Visitors are able to rate videos according to how funny they think they are. The top five green funny videos are:

1st   -   George Carlin saves the planet
2nd    -   Climate Change College
3rd   -   Sunshine
4th   -   George Bush (AKA Will Ferrell) on Global Warming
5th    -   Grapple me grape nuts

EcoTube was created by Chris Smith – ex-TV producer and Green Party candidate – after he spent hours looking for green related material for his Masters Degree in Ethics and Business Responsibility.

Often taking part in eco activism events, Chris (who spent the British Motor Show this year letting down tyres on “prestige” 4x4s and who believes that the heads of every high street bank should be arrested for touting the term “economic growth”),  developed EcoTube in order to build a community for like-minded people to share content.

EcoTube collates the web’s green video material in a searchable central location making it easy – and now entertaining – to discover information about the environment and green issues.

In addition to existing web content, EcoTube encourages the public to submit their own independent reviews of eco products.

“The last few weeks have been quite a rollercoaster for the financial markets the results of which are yet to make their way through to the average person. To put a smile back on our faces we have grouped together some of the webs best eco based fun videos which we hope will help lighten the mood, even if it’s only for a few moments,” Chris Smith commented.
